We went to the ocean today. My wife (Deb) was standing in the ocean when a big wave hit her and relieved her of her glasses. We spent the next half hour looking for them but were unable to find them. The closest place to get glasses from where we are in Papua New Guinea is a 1.5 hour flight or we can order a pair from the USA and have it shipped here (usually 4-6 weeks). Sigh.
I’m trying my hand at making coconut oil. I’ll let you know how my experiment turns out.
The last couple weeks I spent visiting pastors to hear what their needs are and how we can help. As a result, I’ve applied to the Christian Leadership Training College (CLTC) to be able to act as a facilitator and tutor for those taking Theological Education by Extension courses (distance education). Many pastors and leaders desire to take courses to further their understanding of the Bible.
I’ve been editing some audio recordings of Bible stories in 7 different languages. Hopefully I will have them ready soon to be posted on the internet. Tuesday we have a one day follow-up and refresher for those who took the Culture Meets Scripture workshop a few months ago. This month should be pretty busy. I have a three week trip to Ukarumpa for meetings and Deb and our daughter travel to the village for two weeks to help with a literacy course. At least the trip to the village should be an adventure!
